Description, Directions And Facilities Of One Popular Campsite in Gerona
Camping La Sirena Calle La Platera, s/n Apartado Correus 6 17258 L’Estartit Girona Tel: (0034) 97 275 1542 This campsite is right next to the beach in the popular resort of L’Estartit. It is one hours drive from Gerona town. The countryside surrounding L’Estartit is beautiful, and in the summer there is field after field of sunflowers. L’Estartit itself is a popular destination for Dutch and English tourists. It also has many dive schools as the small islands known as Illes Medes that are just off the coast are a haven for divers. Facilities At La Sirena CampsiteLa Sirena has an information office at the entrance. To the left is the swimming pool, shaded by trees. Beyond this you’ll find chalets for hire and also grassed space for tents. La Sirena has its own dive centre, which is open all year, and they take beginners to learn in their pool. There’s also a laundry, restaurants, pools tables, children’s play area, showers, water and electricity. Location And FacilitiesFrom the entrance of the campsite it’s 5 minutes walk directly out onto the beach. By car it is 5 minutes drive into the centre of L’Estartit. On the beachfront road that stretches round to the port, you’ll find a line of restaurants offering tapas, Spanish and European food. Here there are also beach shops and a small supermarket.
On the road leading to the campsite there’s a small Spanish restaurant, and at the end of the road (200 metres from the campsite) there’s a burger bar and entertainment centre with karaoke and karting. DirectionsIf you’re coming from Barcelona leave the A7 motorway at exit number 6 (Girona Nord / Banyoles). Head for Flaca and then L’Estartit. The campsite is signposted from the main road into L’Estartit. Look out for signs just past the Masia hotel that will tell you to turn right. Price GuideThe cheapest prices are 2.70 euros per adult and 2.40 euros per child per night. The cost per car is 2.70 euros, and it’s also 2.70 euros per night for a tent.
