Girona Golf Courses: Where You Can Play Golf In Girona
At the Girona Golf clubs listed below it’s not necessary to be a member in order to play, but at the weekends you have to reserve.
"Girona Golf" CourseGirona Golf is an 18 hole course with a 72 par. The managers of the golf course claim that it is the only course in Spain that is sown with Penncross grass; an especially fine grass. The course was designed by an English architect called F.W Hawtree, and has stunning views to the mountains. It’s very peaceful, and there’s a small residential area next to the clubhouse. Finding Girona Golf Approaching From The SouthThe Girona Golf course is 10 kilometres north of Girona next to a town called Sant Julia de Ramis. From Girona take the N11 road in the direction of Figueres until you come to Sant Julia de Ramis. There are signposts for the golf course from here, but they are quite small. They are predominantly white with a bit of blue and they say ‘Golf Girona’. The turn for the golf course will be on your left, in between fields. It is just before a bend in the road to the right. If you find yourself heading onto the motorway or over the motorway, you have gone too far! Finding Girona Golf When Approaching From The North
If you are arriving at the golf course from the direction of Figueres, take the A7 motorway towards Barcelona. The exit for Sant Julia de Ramis is clearly signposted before you get to Girona. As you leave the motorway you’ll exit onto a bend in a road. Keep to your right and in 100 metres there’s a small yellow sign (that was partially hidden by the long grass on my visit) that says ‘Girona Golf’. It points to a right turn. Follow that turn to the right.
Once you are on the entry road, you will wind uphill for 5 minutes and then pass through a residential area. After this you’ll come to a roundabout and the golf course is signposted to your left.
